RVYC 2010 Schedule of Events (Updated April 2010)
Please email Jean (jeanpritchard@sbcglobal.net) to add your name to any event or sign up at any RVYC function on the Rendezvous Sign-Up Sheets. As we get closer to the boating season, further details will be updated on events. The dates currently posted will remain the same, but those with question marks have not been finalized as yet… too early to set up! (**Reflect new changes to RVYC’s schedule.)
Sunday, February 5th - Super Bowl Party
Friday, March 5th - RVYC Membership Meeting at 8 p.m.
Sunday, March 28th - Whirlyball Located at 41550Grand River (near Meadowbrook), Novi, 48375, tel. 248-788-8900, www.whirlyballmichigan.com. 1 hr. for 10-15 people from 2-3 p.m., with option to add 1-2 p.m. $175/hr., with coupon, beverages & food available for purchase but can take in snacks.
Participants: Alfaros, Barans, Crains, Lynn Koleski, Shermans (4), Diane Deptula & Bob Frick, Pritchards & Dennis Kunkel. Looking for more people. Dinner in the Novi area afterwards, location TBD.

Monday-Friday, June 28th-July 2nd – Lake Erie Rendezvous Tentative Locations to visit are Pelee Island, Put-In-Bay, Vermillion, Huron & Maumee Bay Participants: Alfaros & Pritchards (details to be planned by participants)
Friday, July 2nd – RVYC General Membership Meeting at 8 p.m. Location: Club Kean
July 4th Weekend Rendezvous Previously scheduled trip to Leamington has been cancelled due to recent tornado damage to the marina and surrounding area. We are looking at alternative plans but most ports and marinas are booked for the holiday weekend. (See further details under the Fleet Captain’s report in the newsletter.)
Saturday, July 17th – Rendezvous to Puce (1 night stay) Dine at their restaurant, stop for a swim in Lake St. Clair (Kirby St. Bay) & picnic lunch on Sunday Participants: Carriers (?), Pritchards, Shermans & Taylors … or … July 17th/24th/31st - Pontooning on Portage Lakes Rent a pontoon boat, buy a water gun and have a “blastfully” wet time.
Monday, August 2nd – Deadline to sign-up and pay for “Holiday Nights” @ the Henry Ford Please see Dec. 11th activity for details and the Fleet Captain’s report in the newsletter.
Friday, August 6th – RVYC General Membership Meeting at 8 p.m. Location: Club Kean with a tentative sunset cruise following the meeting.
Saturday, August 14th - Venetian Theme is “Wild, Wild West” Details for the day & dinner to follow. Participants: Alfaros, Barans, Carriers, Clapper, Conrads, Fryfogles, Helms, Thuls, Koleski/Crains, Middlekauffs, Pritchards, Roths Sr. & Taylors
Sunday, August 15th – Commodore’s Bloody Mary Party on the 100 dock
Saturday-Sunday, August 21st & 22nd – Belle River Saturday Night “Hummers” followed by Sunday’s “Egg Boil”
Labor Day Weekend, September 4th, 5th & 6th – St. Clair City Boat Harbor RVYC General Membership Meeting and dinner on the 5th Theme: Pirates – “Swashbuckling & Booty” (further details to follow)
Participants: Each boat needs to make their own reservations now by accessing the DNR reservation system (http://www.midnrreservations.com/).

Friday-Sunday, September 10th-12th – Put-In-Bay/Toledo Symphony Weekend Symphony on Saturday at 6 p.m. (details to follow) Participants: Pritchards
Saturday, September 18th – Progressive Dinner at Metro Beach Details to follow. Besides new dog rules, South Basin will be open to reservations via DNR. (http://www.midnrreservations.com/) Participants: Baciles, Barans, Koleski, Pritchards, Shermans & Thuls
?? Sunday, September 19th or 26th – Winery Tour/Yacht Club Tour Do a “color” tour visiting wineries/yacht clubs using A Dream Limo Service
Friday, October 1st - RVYC General Membership Meeting at 8 p.m. Nominations & Bake Sale. Location is at Jim & Carolyn Roth’s home located at 47199 Seven Mile in Northville, tel. 248-348-3787. Please call or Google for directions.
Saturday, October 16th – Haul Out Party at 4 p.m. Location is under the tent at Kean’s. Club furnishes hot dogs & brats and beer & pop. Please bring a dish to pass and BYOB.
Friday, November 5th – RVYC General Membership Meeting at 8 p.m. Elections & Loser’s Drawing with complimentary pizzas. Location is at P/C Lynn Koleski’s home located at 39576 Village Run Dr., Northville 48167, tel. 734-420-5391. Please call or Google for directions.
